About Emily Baum

I grew up in a very artistic family, where my creativity was always nurtured and celebrated. By the age of five, I knew I wanted to become an artist. I received a set of acrylics at 13; my first painting was a self-portrait. It looked nothing like me, but I remember being captivated by the way that color can portray emotion. I look back at that painting today and I can still remember how I was feeling at that moment. I love to paint portraits so I can share that experience with others. Whether it is a family member or a beloved pet, I try to capture their distinct personality through my art. We each have a story to tell and I want to express that in the subjects I paint. My goal as an artist is to create a completely unique and personal work of art that can be shared and passed down for generations to come.
